Oh My Goodness! I Almost Forgot!

Inspiration found on Pinterest
My gosh! I just about forgot to post my card for the ColourQ Challenge!

It's been a super long day today but there's no way I'm going to miss out!

ColourQ Challenge #341 requires the use of some of my favorite SU summer colors ~ Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo PLUS a brand new In-Color that will be available on June 1st, Peakaboo Peach!

I used a Sale A Bration stamp set appropriately named "Hello".

I wasn't sure if I liked this while I was stamping it but as the inks mellowed and evened out, it quickly became a favorite of the weekend!

Okay... this is really the last post for today. I'm headed to bed in the not distant future so I'll catch you all tomorrow for CAS Colours & Sketches!

Monday & Color Throwdown #392

I'm back again this afternoon with a card for a new challenge I've never played before ~ Color Throwdown!

My card was inspired by one I found on Pinterest, I just changed the colors to suite those required by the challenge.

The colors I chose to use were Stampin' Up's Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate and Whisper White.

The stamp set is an oldie but one of my absolute favorites, Summer Silhouettes, also from Stampin' Up!

It's been a heck of a long morning already and there's more day to go including some remodeling projects this evening... it's for my brand new craft room though so I'm not going to complain!

Tonight we're installing a 4-foot fluorescent light fixture that will house 4 daylight bulbs making it bright as noon no matter what doom and gloom is going on outside ~ I'm excited!

Freshly Made Sketches #236

It's Monday morning again and oh how I wish I could stay home and craft today! Alas, I'm off to work here in just a few minutes but first...

I'm squeaking in just under the wire this morning for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #236!

For this card, I used a brand new stamp set by Stampin' Up! that will be available on June 1st. This beautiful flamingo is from the Pop of Paradise stamp set. The washi and designer paper coordinate perfectly to make this card almost effortless!

I say "almost" because the flamingo must be fussy cut as there is no die or punch for her. Fussy Cutting is sooo not my thing which is why I've order a new little gadget called the Slice Precision Cutter. I've posted a picture below and once it arrives and I've given it a try, I'll let you know what I think of it... I really want it to work!

Remodel projects over the weekend have put me a bit behind so I'll be back this afternoon with another card for you!

Vellum Torn for 2 Challenges!

Good Afternoon on a soggy Sunday here in Cheyenne! I swear to goodness, I am so ready for sunshine and a little warmth, I can taste it...

It's been a busy weekend though, working on the remodel. The new laundry room floor is tiled and grouted and the hot water heater is in... a few steps closer to moving day!

Meanwhile, I've made some cards too!

I really love the way this one came out. I made it for CASology's Challenge, Week 197: Tear. My inspiration came from a card I found on Pinterest and did my best to duplicate while adding my own touch :)

The vellum layer on this card is clearly "torn" and has been heat embossed with flowers in iridescent embossing powder. I wanted them to be subtle and just a little sparkly!

And then... while visiting some of my favorite blogs this afternoon, I found a new challenge called "Just Us Girls" and this card fit their Vellum Challenge as well... it's officially called Just Us Girls #343 Trend Week.

Lots more cards to show you and lots of fabulous challenges to enter this week... see you tomorrow!

Less Is More Week #275 - Colour Challenge

Hello! Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web where I share the cards I make for all of my favorite challenges!

Today's card has been created for the Less Is More challenge. This week's instructions were to make a card with pastel colors and I'm pretty sure this one fits the bill!

My card is a CASE of one Catherine Pooler created for her KISS series way back in 2012!

I started out with a card base of Stampin' Up's Sahara Sand and then added a layer of Very Vanilla. The vanilla layer was stamped with the leaves from Summer Silhouettes in lovely Wisteria Wonder and then the whole panel was textured with the Brick Wall embossing folder. I achieved 3 different shades in my leaves simply by "stamping off" for each image.

I finished off with a strip of Wisteria Wonder cardstock and another of Very Vanilla stamped with a new set coming out next month called Designer Tin of Cards. I was a lucky girl at On Stage this past March and won it in a Prize Patrol! Add 3 candy dots in Sahara Sand and this one's ready to go!

Thanks so much for visiting!
